Collaboration is at the heart of School Sport Professionals

We’re proud to bring community members together to share ideas, resources, and experiences — and we’re excited to announce our first collaborative project: “The Future Landscape of School Sport.”

We invite stakeholders from across all states and territories to take part, aiming to include as many school sport organisations as possible. Whether or not you are an SSP member, you are welcome to join us as we explore what the future holds for school sport in Australia.

Project Outline:

Step 1: Discussion

• Online meeting to kickstart conversations
• Explore current and emerging challenges facing school sport professionals
• Seek expressions of interest to form a dedicated Project Team (with all administrative work undertaken by School Sport Professionals)

Step 2: Connection

• Establish project guidelines and outline expected outcomes
• Engage key stakeholders across Australia and internationally
• Create opportunities for connection within and beyond the school sport community

Step 3: Collaboration

• Project Team to consult widely and synthesise key findings
• Foster meaningful collaboration across diverse perspectives

Step 4: Presentation

• Host an open online presentation for all stakeholders nationwide
• Publish key findings on the SSP website and social media channels

Step 5: Review

• Invite feedback from the Project Team and interested stakeholders
• Review findings annually to track changes and emerging trends

As the first step in this exciting new initiative, we invite you to register for an online forum hosted by School Sport Professionals. This interactive session will offer a valuable opportunity to share and discuss the current and emerging issues facing professionals in our industry.

Your input is highly encouraged, and the forum is designed to ensure open, collaborative dialogue. We fully understand the workload pressures you face — there is no obligation to commit to the Project Team by attending. Your voice and experience are what matter most, and we welcome your contribution in any capacity. We are also delighted to have Tom Bottrell, our Advisory Committee member from Western Australia, leading this important initiative with the full support of School Sport Professionals.
